Xerosun was formed back in January 2003 by Fiachra Kelly (then Bass), Dan Gregg (Guitars), Richie Bradley (Drums) and Alan Kelly (Vocals). Creating a unique, explosive and energetic sound of industrial hard rock/metal, combined with an eclectic mix of influences, their portfolio of original material has led them to a variety of venues and wowing an array of audiences all across Ireland. By June 2004 the band had recorded and released their first EP “Ghost”. The tracks for the EP having been chosen by a fan vote off their website. By the summer of 2005 the band had financed and filmed their first music video for the fan favorite “Ghost”. By August of that year the band had returned to the studio to record their follow up EP "Kerosene". In January 2006, Xerosun performed live to half a million people on Irish National television. Following this, lead singer Alan Kelly departed the band to concentrate on family commitments. In April 2006, the band recruited Bassist/Vocalist Ivan O’Sullivan and Fiachra moved from Bass duties to Guitar. The next ten months were spent writing and gigging in Dublin and their third EP, "Broken", was completed in January 2007. The middle of 2007 saw the band finalising demos and putting the finishing touches to a collection of songs that was to be their debut album. Unfortunatley tragedy struck the band in the form of the loss of a family member. Taking time off to deal with this, the band re-immerged in November 2007 with another music video, this time for the song “Silent Call”. This video saw regular rotation on the Irish TV station Channel 6 and is still available on Youtube.com In January 2008, a new member to the Xerosun family was born, as Richie and his wife welcomed their son Eoghan into the world. Time away from the studio was taken, and when the band reconvened to resume work on the new material, tragedy struck again with the loss of another family member. So more time to grieve was taken and in the summer of 2008 the band decided to finish off the tracks and put out the album. At the end of the summer in 2008, founding members and long time friends Richie Bradley and Dan Gregg decided to call it a day on Xerosun. Richie decided he wanted to spend more time with his new family and after ten years in Ireland, Dan decided to return to his native New Zealand. With album recording and mastering finished, October 2008 saw the band relocate to a new studio and begin their search for two new members to complete the line up. A massive stroke of luck hit them when they found Welsh Guitarist and songwriter Gareth Jeffs. Already an accomplished musician, Gareth also brought a wealth of songs with him that he had recorded for his solo project “Lost in Empathy”. Gareth and the boys were an instant match. He fitted perfectly with their unique guitar sound and style, and his song writing chops also greatly impressed them. The Welsh Guitar wizard blended seamlessly into the fold and XEROSUN was almost whole again. It took until early March 2009 before the band could find someone to take on the mammoth task of fulfilling drumming duties. This mission was assigned to Canadian drumming master Darrin Bell. Darrin not only brought his formidable drumming talents to bear on XEROSUN, he also brought with him a wealth of touring experience, from his time spent on the Canadian Metal scene. Darrin soon slotted in nicely and melted into the bone crushing rhythm section that provides the core of XEROSUN’s appeal. With the new line up in place, the 31st of October 2009 see's the unleashing of Xerosun’s long awaited and heavily anticipated debut album "Absence Of Light", available on a limited edition Digipack format, with art work by Seth Siro Anton.
